A spiritual successor to the Jaguar E-type, Jaguar F-Type Convertible was revealed at the Paris Motor Show in 2012. Built on the latest generation of Jaguar’s all-aluminium platform architecture, Jaguar E-type comes with a choice of supercharged V6 and V8 engines, and rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive transmissions.
Launched with ZF eight-speed automatic as the only gearbox option, in 2015 a six-speed manual box was introduced on six-cylinder versions.
All F-Types allow the driver to select Dynamic Mode, which sharpens throttle response, increases steering weight and changes the shift pattern of the smooth eight-speed automatic transmission.
The F-Type V6 and V6 S have 18-inch and 19-inch alloy wheels respectively as standard, plus a neat twin central-exit exhaust, while the V8 R have 20-inch wheels and quad exhaust.
The V6 supercharged petrol engine produces 340 PS (250 kW; 335 hp), going from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in 5.1 seconds, and having a top speed of 161 mph (259 km/h). F-Type S is equipped with the same engine tuned for 380 PS (279 kW; 375 hp), with a top speed of 171 mph (275 km/h), and going from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.
The V8 S is top of the range model, along with the Jaguar’s 5.0-litre 495 PS (364 kW; 488 hp) supercharged petrol engine.
The F-Type has double-wishbone front and rear suspension with adaptive dampers and adjustable suspension settings to allow the driver to adjust ride and handling. At the same time, the F-TYPE has a total of 25 different driving modes programmed to suit different road conditions and driving styles.
Interior of F-Type is luxurious like in every Jaguar, with leather interior and touchscreen display in the center console, along with another TFT display between the dials in the instrument panel.
