04 July 2013 – Fiat is presenting the 500L Living and 500L Trekking to the international press, two developments of the 500’s identity that lead the 500 family to explore new territory, breaking the conventional segment barriers. Two cars very different in form and character, but which have the same roots in common: the Fiat 500, the icon of Italian manufacturing par excellence, which establishes itself throughout the world thanks to Italian style, continuous innovation, respect for the environment and premium quality. This is the magic formula with which the 500 has belied the conventional wisdom of its market, demonstrating that a small city car can become a global success, as well as establish a family of attractive, accessible cars that ensure the utmost choice and versatility.[caption id="attachment_885" align="aligncenter" width="728"] Fiat 500L Living © Fiat[/caption] Read More
Fiat presents the first official photos of the Fiat 500L Living, the new model that will have its world preview in July on the sixth anniversary of the 500 family. A development of the icon launched in 2007, the new car is for living to the full, a car which reaches out directly to a diverse public, attentive to new features and looking for a balance of functionality and design, to make room for their many interests and intended uses without compromising on style.[caption id="attachment_844" align="aligncenter" width="728"] Fiat 500L Living © Fiat[/caption] Read More
Turin, 27 May 2013
On the 23rd May, the ship carrying the first 3,000 Fiat 500L units for the North American market has docked in the port of Baltimore (United States) to unload its first consignment. The vessel then set sail for the Canadian port of Halifax where it completed the delivery of the remainder of its cargo on the 26th May.
The 3,000 cars were first taken by train from the Kragujevac plant in Serbia to the port of Bar in Montenegro, where they were loaded on the 10th May, ready for their trip to the coasts of America.
Production of the North American 500L model began at Kragujevac, the largest car factory in South-East Europe, in March. Last February, Fiat was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Companybest 2012’ by a jury from Autobest, the organisation for the automotive industry in emerging European markets, precisely for its investment in the reconstruction of the Serbian plant, which is now one of the most modern car factories in Europe.Read More
500L combines the iconic nature of the 500 style with traditional Fiat design functionality. The “City Lounge”, as the car has been dubbed, is the result of a very special alchemy. It is a new city car concept that redefines the compact category for the modern family in an emotional vein by expanding on a few styling features of the 500 in unprecedented forms.
The model is reasserting its position as the first car for many families, and often the only car of choice of young families because it combines a number of apparently irreconcilable features all in one: the compact exterior size of a B segment car with the ample passenger room and the full equipment typical of a C segment model. All this comes at an accessible city-car price and with added-value you cannot find elsewhere: the distinctive personality of Fiat 500, the Italian design icon.[caption id="attachment_129" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Fiat 500L[/caption] Read More
