Alfa Romeo was well known for their good and reliable production cars but lacked the expertise to design successful racing model. In 1925. Alfa hired Vittorio Jano an engineer who designed Fiat ‘s Grand Prix racing cars. Jano designed 6C as the replacement for earlier RL and RM model. The Alfa Romeo 6C series was introduced in April 1925. Until 1954. when production ended, six models and many more sub-variants from this series were produced.
