„The family car that wins races“, designed by Orazio Satta for the Alfa Romeo company in 1950, the Alfa Romeo 1900 sports sedan was introduced for the first time in 1950 at the Paris Motor Show. The 1900 had a number of innovative features including unit chassis, and dual overhead cam inline-4 with hemispherical combustion chambers and aluminum alloy cylinder head. The 1900 was offered in two-door or four-door models, with a new 1,884 cc (bore 82.55 mm (3.3 in), stroke 88 mm (3.5 in)), 90 bhp…Read More

The 90th anniversary of the ‘Quadrifoglio Verde’ (green four-leaf clover), the legendary symbol that has identified some of Alfa Romeo’s sportiest models, is being celebrated this year. That refers not only to the cars which have taken to the world’s race circuits, but also to certain special production versions.
The origin of this symbol has been lost in legend, but it is interesting to note its correspondence with the flag that distinguished the aeroplanes of the “10th Caproni Bomber Squadron” in the Great War. Today the Quadrifoglio is part of the Italian Air Force’s coat of arms and at the same time remains the symbol of Alfa Romeo’s philosophy, based on the constant pursuit of excellence applied to competitions and then completely transferred to its production vehicles.[caption id="attachment_790" align="aligncenter" width="728"] The Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Verde is 90 years old © Alfa Romeo[/caption] Read More
