“Mercedes-Benz dream cars” is a combined concept for the Stuttgart-based manufacturer’s sales and marketing activities around its coupé, cabrio and roadster model series. The campaign is currently being rolled out in its core markets. Along with the Saloon and Estate, Mercedes-Benz has also carried out a thorough revamp of the Coupé and Cabriolet in the E-Class family. Visually, both the Coupé and Cabriolet draw on the new Mercedes-Benz design idiom. An exclusive and luxurious specification for sublime motoring refinement underlines both the customer’s individuality and the models’ E-Class family genes. New features include powerful and efficient BlueDIRECT four-cylinder engines with pioneering injection technology and trailblazing assistance systems as part of the “Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive” concept. Such Intelligent Drive features include, for example, systems which are able to prevent collisions with crossing vehicles or with pedestrians, a proximity control system that helps to steer too, and dazzle-free continuous high beam.

Michael Schumacher to drive 2011 Formula 1 Silver Arrow on Nürburgring Nordschleife

Stuttgart, Apr 25, 2013 – On Sunday 19th May 2013 before the start of the 24-hour race around the Nürburgring, seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher will take to the track. Schumacher will post a demonstration lap on the Nürburgring’s legendary Nordschleife in a MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS F1 W02 to say ‘thank you’ to his fans for their years of loyal support during his F1 career. This will be the first time since Juan Manuel Fangio’s victory on 1st August 1954 that a modern Formula 1 Silver Arrow has driven on the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring.

Mercedes-Benz Concept GLA: Escape the everyday

Mercedes-Benz will be showing a compact premium-class SUV at the “Auto Shanghai” motor show (21 to 29 April 2013) in the form of its Concept GLA. The Concept GLA combines dynamic styling with clear benefits for recreational use. Under the bonnet of this new concept vehicle (length/width/height: 4383/1978/1579 millimetres) sits a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine rated at 155 kW (211 hp) with a displacement of 1991 cc. Its power is transmitted to the road via the 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. A new approach is taken here in the form of headlamps featuring laser technology: these not only shine more light on the road, but also function as projectors.
